ANDAM finalists 2013

The jury of the 24th annual ANDAM competition have just announced the list of young designers eligible for Grand Prix and Prix des Premières Collections awards, in France's national fashion awards.

Created 23 years ago by Natalie Dufour on the initiative of the French minister of culture, ANDAM (the French National Association for the Development of Arts and Fashion) gives young designers the chance to show their work to fashion professionals, with the hope of setting up in France to design ready-to-wear and accessories for men or women.

This year's jury is composed of some of the industry's most important fashion figures such as Emmanuelle Alt, editor-in-chief of Vogue Paris, Pierre Bergé representing the Pierre Bergé Foundation and Yves Saint-Laurent, Sarah Andelman, head of purchasing and creative director at colette, Renzo Rosso, sponsor of this year's award winners as well as other young potential fashion industry professionals at this 24th celebration of the event.

Iris Van Herpen, Olympia Le-Tan, Pedro Lourenço, AMI – Alexandre Mattiussi, Masha Ma, Maison Rabih Kayrouz  and Yang Li have all been selected for the ANDAM Grand Prix and a grant of €250,000 while Christine Phung, Aganovich and Calla Haynes are in the running for the ANDAM Prix des Premières Collections, an award started in 2011 with a prize of €75,000.

After declaring Julien David and Pièce d'Anarchive the winners in 2012, Anthony Vacarello and Yiqing Yin in 2011 and Hakaan in 2010, the 23 members of this year's jury will once again meet on July 4 to decide, based on creative as well as business potential, who to crown winner of the highly coveted prizes.
