A scandalous singer of the 1990′s,
Marilyn Manson has become a face of Saint Laurent’s new menswear campaign. This
time the rock musician has shocked everybody for real by being selected as new
star for such famous luxury brand as Saint Laurent.
Well, news fly fast, it was already
confirmed by creative director Hedi Slimane of Saint Laurent, that Marilyn
Manson will front the brand’s menswear campaign this year. Although quite
unexpected, it is very logical in terms of a new collection that fits the style
of the provocative star.
Meanwhile, Manson appears very
confident in a black biker jacket, which seems to be representing the whole
line of new menswear collection of Saint Laurent. As usual he’s also wearing
his signature black lipstick and heavy smudged black eyeliner; Manson is being
grumpy on the first photoshoot.
Brian Hugh Warner, always referred
to as Marilyn Manson, is not alone in this endeavor. Courtney Love, an ex-wife
of Kurt Cobain and also a provocative singer of the 90′s, who had major
troubles with the law, is reviving her modeling career with the same label.
Among other rock musicians to fall in this category are Kim Gordon and Ariel
Winter – who all are set to appear in the latest series of Saint Laurent ads,
in the project that’s called “Music “.
To Manson’s fans, the news certainly
come as a surprise, sincehe is not very social and communicative. However, it
also shows that he is still alive and doing work. By the way, his latest album Born
Villain came last year after a long period of silence. So in general,
Manson is still his old self even when being the face of Saint Laurent.
